The rules and conditions for using www.taketherate.com and our mortgage origination services.
By accessing or using www.taketherate.com (the "Site") or any of the services offered by Take The Rate ("we," "us," "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
Take The Rate is operated by Travis Saling, NMLS #299683, a licensed mortgage loan originator. Loans are originated through Answer Home Lending and our network of wholesale lender partners.
You must be at least 18 years old and a legal U.S. resident to use our services. By using this Site you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is true, accurate, and complete.
You agree to use this Site only for lawful purposes. You may not:
Important: Any rates, products, or estimates shown on this Site are illustrative only and do not constitute a commitment to lend. Actual rates and terms depend on credit score, loan-to-value ratio, debt-to-income ratio, property type, occupancy, loan amount, and lender pricing at the time of lock. All loans are subject to underwriting approval, satisfactory appraisal, and clear title.
Sample rates and calculator results are estimates. Your final rate will be determined after a complete loan application, credit pull, and lender pricing.
Take The Rate operates two separate SMS programs. Both require your express written consent via an unchecked opt-in checkbox on our website forms. Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchase or of receiving a mortgage quote, and you may submit our forms without opting in to either program.
You opt in to either or both programs separately by checking the corresponding box on our contact form at apply.html or the rate alert form on our homepage. Neither box is pre-checked, and you may submit either form without checking either box.
Message frequency varies. Transactional messages are sent as events occur during your loan inquiry or application (typically 1–10 messages per week while a loan is active). Marketing messages are sent no more than four (4) times per month.
Message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details about your specific plan. Take The Rate does not charge for SMS messages it sends.
You can cancel either SMS program at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from that program. After you send STOP, we will send you a confirmation message and you will not receive additional messages from that program. If you want to rejoin, sign up again on our website.
If you are experiencing issues with the SMS program, reply HELP to any message for assistance, or contact our customer support directly at (619) 393-3869 or travis@taketherate.com.
Our SMS programs are compatible with all major U.S. wireless carriers, including AT&T, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, Boost Mobile, MetroPCS, Cricket Wireless, and others. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Information you provide when you opt in to an SMS program will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in data with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.
By providing your contact information, you also consent to receive communications from Take The Rate by email and phone regarding your inquiry, application, and related services. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link. You cannot opt out of transactional communications related to an active loan application without withdrawing the application.
You agree to receive disclosures, notices, and other documents electronically (E-SIGN Act consent). You can withdraw this consent by contacting us in writing, but doing so may delay or prevent loan processing.
Submitting a loan application or requesting a rate quote that requires a credit pull authorizes Take The Rate and our lender partners to obtain a credit report from one or more credit bureaus. Soft credit pulls do not affect your credit score; hard credit pulls associated with a full mortgage application may temporarily lower your score by a few points.
